“Christians and Hindus: In Defence of the
Vulnerable of Society” is the theme of a message sent by the Pontifical Council
for Interreligious Dialogue to Hindus, for the 2018 Feast of Deepavali to be celebrated on 7 November. It is the festival of the “row of oil lights”, which symbolically based on ancient mythology, it representes the victory of truth over lies, light over darkness, and of life over death, good over evil. The main celebrations last for three days marking the beginning of a new year, family reconciliation, especially between brothers and sisters, and adoration of god.
