Puerto Rico will be the site for the next
American Missionary Congress (CAM) in 2023. This was announced during the
closing Mass of the fifth edition of the Congress, held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra in Bolivia.
While waiting for the official conclusions, the members of the Congress developed a draft which summarized the works accomplished as well as concrete proposals to enact for “a missionary conversion of the Church in America”.
The goal was to “promote changes in activities and ecclesiastical structures so
that the Church, in “reaching out”, might respond faithfully to God in his open
mission to the peoples, and above all, to the poor and outcasts”.
