Handicapped: Pope Encourages Reduction of Architectural Barriers

Pope Francis supports the Italian initiative of the National Day for the Reduction of Architectural Barriers, which impede the passage of handicapped persons.

In a message, signed by the Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, the Holy Father encourages the 15th edition of “€œFairyday,”€ observed on October 1, 2017.

According to Vatican Radio, the Pontiff greeted those working to guarantee the same opportunities  of life for all, regardless of their physical or social conditions, by promoting the reduction of all existing barriers.

Pope Francis pleads for the contribution of the Christian faith to man”€™s growth and for society to stimulate action for human promotion, fraternal solidarity and the right of every person to dignity. He sends his Apostolic Blessing to the participants in the day.
