Letter from Saint Peter, the Apostle!

Dear, God’s own People.

May grace and peace be yours in abundance in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord!

The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has given us A NEW BIRTH into a living hope to become participants of the divine nature through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead as He was put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit. We had been eyewitnesses of Jesus’ majesty. For Jesus received honor and glory from God the Father when that voice was conveyed to him by the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, my Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice come from heaven, while we were with him on the holy mountain. Although you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you did not see Him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy.

All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower falls, but the Word of the Lord endures forever. That word is the good news that was announced to you. You have been born anew not of the perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God. Therefore, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house in order to abstain from the desires of the flesh that wage war against the soul; prepare your minds for action; discipline yourselves; rid yourselves of all malice, and all guile, insincerity, envy, and all slander; have genuine mutual love; love one another deeply from the heart for love covers a multitude of sins; set all your hope on the grace of Jesus our Lord; make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love; do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse, but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing; live for righteousness, have a tender heart and a humble mind and by doing right you should silence the ignorance of the foolish; and moreover, keep your conscience clear to live no longer by human desires but by the will of God; it is for this, that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing and enter into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that will be richly provided for you, which is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.

The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance. Therefore, grow in the GRACE and KNOWLEDGE of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him bethe glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

+ In Christ,

Peter, An apostle of Jesus Christ.
