Jesus Never Grows Old

Now more than ever, Europeans need to rediscover all of the beauty and the truth of the message of Jesus Christ, “€œwhich never grows old”€:

Pope Francis said this in the message he sent to Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian
Unity, on the occasion of the XIV Inter-Christian Symposium, which took place from 28 to 30 August in Thessalonica, Greece, and was promoted by the Franciscan Institute of Spirituality of the Pontifical University Antonianum and by the theology department of the Orthodox theology faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessalonica. Their objective was clear: to encourage theological and cultural discussion between Catholics and the Orthodox, reflecting together on the “€œneed for re-evangelizing the Christian communities in Europe”€.

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew, also sent a message to participants of the Symposium of Thessalonica, indicating “€œthe need, especially today, for inter-Christian dialogue, in order to cultivate an atmosphere of mutual trust and sincere friendship among Christians, in an era in which collaboration and unity are becoming more and more necessary”€.
