L”€™Osservatore Romano Details Archbishop Gallagher Trip to Argentina

Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Vatican Secretary for Relations with States, paid an official visit to Argentina from November 4-7, 2017, at the invitation of Argentine authorities, according to the L”€™Osservatore Romano account provided by the Vatican.

During Mass at the Cathedral of Buenos Aires on November 5, 2017, Archbishop Gallagher gave the homily and “€œexhorted those present to always keep the lamp of the faith lighted, that faith that forged the country and continues to be a compass for the faithful and the Pastors in their daily path of discernment.”€

Archbishop Gallagher expressed his condolences for the five Argentine citizens who died in the October 31, 2017 terrorist attack in New York City.

Also, the meeting offered other occasions to highlight the opportunity to reinforce State-Church collaboration to promote the good of Argentine society
