On Saturday, April 22, 2017, Pope Francis received in Audience their serene Highnesses Prince Hans Adam II and Hereditary Prince Alois of the Principality of Liechtenstein. According to a statement released by the Holy See Press Office, the discussions were cordial and highlighted the good bilateral relations between the Holy See and Liechtenstein. “The historic role of the Catholic Church and the positive contribution she continues to offer to the life of the country were recognized, it noted, adding, “Appreciation was then expressed for the Principality”s efforts in the international sphere, particularly in the protection of human rights. After meeting with the Pope, their Highnesses subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Msgr. Antoine Camilleri, under-secretary for Relations with States.
