To Franceso Maria Greco being a priest
meant carrying out his mission like the Good Samaritan, who, on his way from
Jerusalem to Jericho, “tends to wonds of humanity, caused by evil and vice, in
order to revive the faith that has fallen dormant or even extuinguished
altogether”. In this way Cardinal Angelo Amato, Prefect for the Causes of
Saints, summed up the work of the Calabrian priest during the
beatification at which he presided on
behalf of the Pope on Saturday afternoon, 21 May, in the main stadium of
Cosenza.
