New management  of the Holy See Press Office

On Monday morning, 11 July, Msgr Dario Edoardo Vigan, Prefect of the Secretariat for Communications, introduced to accredited journalists the new Director, Mr Greg Burke of the United States,
and the new Vice-Director, Ms Paloma Garc­a Ovejero of Spain, who will lead the Holy See Press Office beginning on 1 August. They will succeed Fr Federico Lombardi,SJ, who, that same morning, had completed his second mandate at the
helm of the Press Office. For the first time, both roles will be filled by two lay persons “€“ one being a woman, another first. During the meeting with journalists Msgr Vigan consigned to Burke and Overjero the documents with the official appointments signed by Pope Francis. In an informal meeting at the Domus Sanctae Marthae earlier that morning, the Pontiff greeted the two
appointees and wished them well in their work.
