
Pope Francis has sent his condolences for those affected by an earthquake in Taiwan. The major 6.4-magnitude quake that struck late Tuesday night was centered 14 miles northeast of the coastal city of Hualien, and according to sources, has claimed at least six lives and left more than 200 injured, and nearly 90 missing. In his message, the Holy Father expresses his solidarity with all those affected and his prayers. Encouraging civil authorities and emergency personnel to persevere in their rescuing efforts, the Pope invoked on all Taiwanese people divine blessings of strength and peace.
