Prelate Named for Ingwavuma, South Africa

Pope Francis has named Fr. Mandla Siegfried Jwara, C.M.M., as apostolic vicar of Ingwavuma, South Africa.

He was born in St. Nivard, South Africa, in 1957.

He professed final vows in the Missionary Order of Mariannhill in 1986 and was ordained a priest in 1987. Since then he has served in various capacities, including as: vice-pastor, novitiate master, provincial of the order, member of the order’s general council in Rome, and pastor.

Ingwavuma has a population of some 754,000,  with about 27,000 Catholics. They are served by 14 priests and 19 religious.
