Catholics in the UAE are advised to register with their local parishes ASAP…

As Pope Francis’ visit to the UAE in February draws nearer, details for how to register for tickets to the Palpal Mass have been released.

Catholics in the UAE are advised to register with their local parishes as soon as possible if they want to get tickets to the landmark event.

Taking place at the Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, February 5 at 10.30am, there will be 120,000 tickets released for the event.

According to the official UAE Palpal visit website, tickets will reach local parishes around January 20, so parishioners are urged to register before then to be in with a chance of securing a ticket. St Mary’s Catholic Church in Dubai has advised that the last day for registration is January 15, while you’ll need to register by January 20 as a parishioner of St. Francis Church in Jebel Ali. Registration can be done online on the respective websites.

The majority of tickets will be allocated within the parish of southern Arabia (UAE, Oman and Yemen), with a small number given to northern Arabia parishes, which includes Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar.

Entry to the event is free, but you must be a ticketholder to attend.

If you miss out on a ticket however, the event will be live streamed and broadcasted in churches across country, the papal visit website  as well as on the Vatican’s YouTube channel.

Pope Francis is set to visit the UAE this year for a landmark, three-day visit which will take place from February 3 to 5. It will be the first time a Pope has ever come to the UAE.
