
Today an updated programme was published for Pope Francis’ apostolic trip to Sweden, to take place from 31 October to 1 November, for the Lutheran-Catholic Joint Commemoration of the Reformation.
The Pope will depart at 8.20 from Rome”s Fiumicino airport and will arrive at 11 a.m. at Malmo airport, where the official welcome and a meeting with the prime minister of Sweden will take place.
At 1.50 p.m. he will make a courtesy visit to the Swedish royal family in the Kunghuset Royal Palace in Lund.
At 2.30 he will participate in the joint ecumenical prayer in the Lutheran Cathedral of Lund, where he will pronounce a homily.
And at 4.40 p.m. he will attend the ecumenical event in the Malm Arena in Malmo where he will give an address.
He will subsequently meet the ecumenical delegations at 6.10 p.m., again in the Malmo Arena.
On Tuesday, 1 November, at 9.30 a.m., he will celebrate Mass in the Swedbak Stadium in Malmo, after which he will transfer to the city”s airport where the official farewell ceremony will take place.
At 12.45 p.m. he will depart for Rome, where he is scheduled to arrive at 3.30 p.m. at Ciampino airport.
